The Wrong Way of Creating Content for Your Web Site

As mentioned previously, the most common way NOT to build your site it to:

  • copy other people's articles and put them on your site
  • buy PLR's (Private Label Articles) cheap [ buy the expensive one's not the cheap one's]

And why are these methods wrong?

First of all, think about how you would feel if you spent a day coming up with a beautiful article on your hobby, say, making miniature boats that can be put into bottles, and an hour after you post the article online, someone copies it and put in on their web site. How does that make you feel? Angry?

Luckily for you, Google also thinks the same. Identical articles will get punished, and Google will look at the time and date that it indexed the page. The newer article will be penalized. Which means that if you article was up yesterday and I copied it and hosted it today, although were both having the same articles, my articles will receive a lower score in Google's indexing and will probably never show up or will appear after 10 pages in their listing. So, Google penalizes blatant copying. This, makes it safe for you to keep writing your own articles.

But what does that got to do with PLR's? Well, PLR's or Private Label Articles, are written by one party and then sold to lots of people over the Internet. It used t be sold rampantly but when Google came out with the ruling of penalizing duplicate content, PLR publishers started limiting the number of copies they sell.

Even then, their releasing it to around 100~200 people. So, when you rush in and buy these articles, keep in mind that there will be around 200 similar articles on the Internet - just the same as yours - and Google is keeping an eye on all of them. The first one will probably get a higher index score and if you're one of the last one's to buy it, then I wish you well in your pursuit of visitors because I don't think you will get many.

The worst part of all of this is Google lowers the rank of your web site based on the number of duplicate content it finds on your web site - in other words, Google thinks you're spamming!
