Malaysian tranportation system is a quandry. Malaysia has buses, taxis, inter-city trains. You can get to anywhere at anytime of the day. But the problem with the public tranportation system is that its not well connected. To get from point A to point B with the public transport system requires you to take two different trains or buses, which are not well connected. Meaning you will need to get out of train station A and walk to the next train connecting train station to get continue your journey. Which explains why most Malaysians ignore the governments call to use the public transport and continue driving to work daily. This, of course, causes massive traffic congestion in the mornings and evenings. So, the best times to travel within the city is between 10 am and 12 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm. 12-2pm is the usual lunch time and expect to be caught in minor traffic crawls. And avoid the roads when it drizzles or rains, you'll be caught in traffic for hours. Trust me on this. I will soon list all the major transportation modes available within Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur. |
