When people first think of Malaysia, two things come to mind. First, people perceive Malaysia as an Islamic country. Second, they wonder if the country is safe?

Is Malaysia Safe?

Every country has their fair share of criminals and Malaysia is no different. But Malaysians dont get killed every day. Ok, my mistake. Malaysians do get killed on a daily basis and if you're not careful of vehicles during rush hour traffic, you might get nicked by a car or motorbikes.

But to be killed by guns is very rarely as it is difficult to obtain guns on the street. So, Malaysia is a safe place to be.

Of course, there are some dodgy places to be at night. Talk to anyone local and they will tell you which places, not too many, to avoid. Stay away from these places and you should be fine.

Night life in Malaysia is vibrant. You get a lot of expat's at the local night clubs. There is taxi (cab) service to take you home after your outing.
